Willow Barn

House is lovely with a wonderful view. Shame the experience with the host let it down so much. I’m very disappointed with our stay at Willow Barn. Less than an hour before our agreed check-in time, I was wrongly told I hadn't paid, despite paying in full weeks prior. This caused unnecessary stress and was never explained or apologised for. Worse still, the hot tub, a key reason for booking, didn’t work. I reported it within 10mins of arrival via message, email, and phone. Aside from one vague message saying maintenance would be informed, we received no update or resolution. We ended up leaving a day early. It’s now been over 3 weeks with no response to my formal complaint, despite follow-ups. I’ve had to escalate this to Booking.com. Disappointed and let down.

House and views were really lovely. Booked for a 60th birthday as a surprise and when booking we made sure the place had a hot tub. Unfortunately on arrival we checked the hot tub and it was full of mould, dead insects and stagnant water and wasn’t working. Messaged host with photos and was assured they would look into it. Day 2 we were told a contractor would attend the next day, but by checkout day 5 no one had attended and we were just repeatedly told they were looking into it. Looking at previous reviews we think the hot tub hasn’t been working since June and they’ve just not fixed it. We received a partial refund from AirBnB and just hope that either the host fixes and maintains the hot tub better, or removes it from the listing to avoid disappointment for other guests. There was also a coffee machine on top of the fridge that was full of thick mould. A big shame as we would’ve returned had the issue with the hot tub been resolved during our stay.

Lovely stay at willow barn, very clean and spacious, views were beautiful! unforntuantely we found the hot tub to not be working on arrival, altho maintence came out they were unable to fix it, which was a shame as we were very much looking forward to relaxing in it as part of our stay! otherwise no problems, would recommend and love to return in the future.

Great location with beautiful views at the rear of the property, we found the in side was perfect for our large family we could all eat and socialise inside the big kitchen/ dining area together, the bedrooms were spacious with nice modern bathrooms all very clean , outside area Although the grass had been cut and a large area for the children to play on was perfect and the hot tube was a big hit, the patio area outside the byfold doors was a mixture of stones and rubble hard to walk on, the garden furniture could do with upgrading not very comfortable Garden at the front of the property was overgrown These however were minor issues , we all enjoyed our stay very much and would return

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. It offered plenty of space for our large group—two families of four plus grandparents—and the layout was perfect for spending time together while also allowing everyone their own space. The home was exceptionally clean, and the views were absolutely beautiful. We especially enjoyed watching the deer pass through the gardens and spotting a barn owl was a memorable highlight. We truly loved the property and would be very happy to return in the future.

We were a party of 10 people staying for 3 nights. The barn house was lovely – location is great, spacious and everything you needed was inside. I had no issues checking in. The barn house is everything we needed, but I’d like to highlight a few points: 1. There is no shower gel or amenities provided for you . Wasn’t a problem for us. 2. Only 1 toilet roll provided in the 3 bathrooms – 2 of them were already half used, no spears provided. These are basic essentials they should provide. I had messaged and got response back to purchase my own. Not what I’d expect from a stay costing thousands! Also, if they had noticed we were a 10 people and 3 nights! 3. Comminication from the host is very poor. I had messaged 4 weeks prior to our stay with a query - never got back to me. Overall we had a good experience, apart from the hosts communication being poor and they need to consider the basic essentials to be provided, as mentioned above. For this reason I’d give them 4/5.

Stayed for four days 27th Dec-1st Jan and heating wasn't working, with 4 Deg outside. Reported within 3 hours of arrival and eventually replied at 1:23am with instructions how to use. Woke stupid early freezing day 2, more instructions how to use it. Had to get out of the freezing house, assured heating engineer would attend, he didn't. Day 3 still no heating, "handy man" turned up 11:45am with an electric heater, explained he wasn't a heating engineer and away he went. Day 4, checkout day, still no heating, wouldn't give us an extra 1/2 hour to try and all shower using the immersion for hot water. Hot tub continually tripped out and never got to temperature. Complained and asked for refund, 8 days later they came back and said they had "SMS" messaged us before hand to inform us heating wasn't working. We had 50 odd messages before and during stay through Airbnb but the one CRITICAL bit of info they claim was text but we did not received. BS! Ruined the whole Christmas break.

The barn conversion is lovely and in very nice surrounds. However, we booked this for our annual family Christmas gathering and the heating was broken. It was not a simple fix either. We spent significant time attempting to fix with some assistance from remote assist, but it would’ve been nicer to not have had this worry at all, especially during Christmas Day. Perhaps the property could have had a maintenance check before we arrived? Although remote assistance was offered and we did what we can. At the end of the day it’s not our home and we can’t be expected to understand its heating nuances. We suspect it was a bigger issue beyond our capabilities. No partial refund offered which didn’t surprise us, just a comment on thanking us for our ‘understanding & it’ll be sorted for next guests’, which considering we’ve spent out a fair price for the property and it was Xmas time, seemed kind of poor. It did over shadow our stay tbh.

Really amazing, modern place, great hot tub, lovely peaceful surroundings. A few basics were lacking, the central heating wasn't set up for our arrival and not sure it was in the handbook, feel like this is expected when you're paying a premium. There were only 3 loo rolls for 4 rooms, no spare bin bags, fire pit wasn't emptied etc. I would recommend other guests bring a projector for the main room if they have one.

Its a lovely space in a great location. Obviously recently refurbished to a high standard with lovely views across the marshes.

Perfect for a family break in the country!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with 3 generations of the family. There are some steps to get to the bedrooms and the step to get to the back seating area was too high for my parents to get in and out. We made a makeshift step for this, there is the ramp for entry into the front door, but the walk round was too far for them. This wouldn’t put us off returning, we would just bring a portable step with us next time.

Location was good on the edge of a small village with plenty of things to do a short drive away. The property was very nice, spacious and clean. A nice big garden and a lovely hot tub. The view was out of the main windows was beautiful and created lots of light. I think they could have supplied more basics like washing/dishwasher tabs, toilet rolls etc. Wifi wasn't very good in the bedrooms, could be approved. I think a coffee machine which takes pods would be a useful addition as most places seem to have them. Also, confusing with towels, they say towels are supplied for the hot tub and not to use the ones provided in the bedrooms. There weren't any additional towels.

Great house for a family celebration weekend. Lovely views and grounds and nice and private.

This house was stunning! The hot tub was amazing to have, so much space, a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need and it was just like the pictures! The only (very small) issue was although the house was spotless, the floors were mopped but not clean. Tip for anyone staying…take slippers, or wear black socks. The washing machine was so helpful to have and again, my only tip is not to leave your clothes in the laundry room to dry with the door closed because they will smell like petrol…even after washing them again at home. The laundry room appears to have the boiler/oil tank in too so although it’s lovely and warm, it’s a bit stinky. Don’t let that put you off because it’s stunning!

Beautiful property in a secluded environment. The place could do with some maintenance as there were only a few minor issues with the water pressures in the bathrooms. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and we enjoyed all the treats in there! Thank you

Cleanliness and view- nice bedrooms and bathrooms Lack of kids things to play with. Outside furniture poor - wood chairs always wet- plastic chairs and cushions unusable

Property as it looks in the photos. Lovely open plan cooking, dining, sitting area with lovely views. Secluded spot with space to unwind. Facilities are as described and the property is well specified being a new conversion. Couple of little niggles but have fed those back to management company so hopefully resolved for any future letting.

Perfect for 3 generations to enjoy quiet reunion. Beautiful view which we didn’t want to leave. Would recommend and revisit.

We visited as a large multi-generation family group and had a wonderful time. The barn is extremely spacious and comfortable and has everything you need. There are beautiful views across the countryside and the location is excellent for days out. I really hope to visit again.
