Both interior and exterior were amazing. We loved the views and location. Liked that it was peaceful and we could just relax and take in the wonderful vista in front of us. Great food in Rock pub and loved the reservoir just 10 minutes away. The food and staff were great and again wonderful scenery.

The location was stunning. Views of the nearby Roaches and of the green wooded hills to the lake and beyond were spectacular. Birdsong day and night and no traffic noise. The cottage was lovely with period features such as old cupboards in the walls and gorgeous old beams. Comfortable living room and beds. Kitchen was not practical for cooking for 4 for a week- cramped with only 2 rings on the hob. Cracks and chips in crockery and minimal cutlery. One chair in kitchen falling apart and outside seating needing some attention- wobbly and broken bits. The plumbing was very hard to negotiate- water to bath varied in pressure and hot water absolutely scalding. Shower not usable due to being either cold or boiling- water did not mix. A booklet explaining how to use the bathroom effectively (if there was a way!) would have been very helpful. When I asked for assistance by text I had no answer for the whole week.

Had a lovely stay at Lakeview Cottage over the bank holiday weekend. The cottage matched the photos, and was perfect for our young family. Beds all very comfy, nice sized living area, and lots of room for the kids to run around outside (and a small climbing frame which they loved). Loved sitting out on the patio area in the evening too, and enjoying the views. Great location, with lots of walk options straight from the doorstep. Also a great pub, Lazy Trout, which is walkable across the fields or a short drive away. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The cottage in which we stayed in was lovely and very homely. The area in which it is in allows access to many scenic routes around the Peak District including ‘The Roaches’ and ‘Lud’s Church’. Albeit it was a little bit difficult to find, it is certainly worth it :) However, I do feel as if the communication could’ve been better from Host and Stay. They have many members of the team, so you don’t know who you’ll be contacting, and some of the answers were unhelpful. On top of this, ‘an issue with the calendar’ meant that we were not able to stay in the place for the first night - with the promise of a nearby hotel being paid for for the night, a claim that has not yet been paid back to us and has left us a further £100 down without any kind of communication as to when we can expect this to be refunded to us. All in all, it was a nice place to stay, but there are plenty of nicer/friendlier accommodations within the area

Well equipped, cosy, immaculately clean. Wind noise in master bedroom from the fire place.
