Property Details

The Space
Melody’s Cottage is a beautiful terraced property packed with character. Inside you’ll find a living room complete with a log fire, two cosy bedrooms, an open plan kitchen diner and two bathrooms, all in picturesque surroundings.

With a spacious layout and a warm colour palette, the living room is homely and relaxing. Kick back on the large sofa or in the armchair with a good book or play games with your loved ones. As it gets colder outside, fire up the log burner and enjoy a cosy night in. Traditional in style, the space also includes a flat-screen Smart TV, desk area, and storage space.

Head out of the living room and you’ll find the open plan kitchen diner. With light coloured walls and a large window overlooking the garden, the kitchen has a bright and airy feel. White wooden cabinets add a somewhat traditional style to the space which fits perfectly with the nature of the property. Fully equipped for all self-catering staycations, you’ll have access to an oven, hob, microwave, toaster and kettle during your stay.

Ideal for socialising, the open plan kitchen diner allows guests to gather and chat whilst others cook. With a rectangular wooden table and four chairs along with a separate breakfast bar, there is ample space for your party to enjoy meals together.

Also located on the ground floor is a modern shower room.

Outside you’ll find an enclosed grassed garden along with a small paved area with outdoor furniture - very much a family and dog friendly area. A real treat, this outside space is an added luxury to Melody’s Cottage. You can enjoy al fresco dining with your party and drinks outside as the evening draws near. What’s more, when it’s bright outside, you’ll be guaranteed sun all day long thanks to the fantastic position and openness of the garden.

Head back inside and take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms. Bold in colour, the first bedroom has a double bed and cream coloured walls along with an olive green wall behind the headboard to create a cosy and claiming space.

The second bedroom has two single beds made up using soft furnishings and a light grey carpet.

You’ll enjoy your sleep at Melody’s Cottage as all beds feature crisp white linens and plush bedding.

The family bathroom has a bathtub with handheld shower, wash basin and WC.

Neighborhood
Melody’s Cottage is located in beautiful Middleton, right in the centre of rural farming life in Belford. Ideally situated between the Northumberland coast and wilderness of the Northumberland National Park, you really do have lots to discover.

Surrounded by fields, trees and nature, Melody’s Cottage has a lush, green backdrop. You can enjoy long, quiet walks and energetic hikes through the countryside. The area is packed with wildlife and even features a nature reserve, so birds like wildfowl and waders can be seen passing through in droves during the winter.

Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre, brimming with independent shops, restaurants and inns. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne can be seen from various points around the village and is within easy reach. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing.

Melody’s Cottage is just a short 10-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal town of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.

Getting Around

Excellent location, nicely laid out accommodation Smell on entry. Downstairs bathroom shower has doors hanging off, shower is poor flow need to run around to get wet, flooring lifting, sewer smell from shower trap, no attempt to rectify flooring. Beds too soft, whole cottage smelt feisty. We had to rewash crockery before use.

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. A stones throw from the A1 making getting out and about very easy. So many fabulous places to go in easy reach, best of all Holy Island.

Very cosy home, perfect for a family of 4. Typical English cottage feeling :-), and we enjoyed it very much. The communication with Host&Stay is easy with very fast reaction times. The location is perfect for many Northumbrian attractions (Holy Island, Farne Islands, Alnwick Castle, Bambourgh) or for a daytrip to Scotland.

The house has everything that you need. It is clean. Great bed. The shower is very difficult to use because the temperature is difficult to adjust and the water gets really hot! There is a small garden but with little privacy. It is a good place to visit Holy Island or Bamburgh Castle. We didn’t liked the agency. They didn’t gave us enough information for collecting the key.

Great location for Bamburgh and Holy Island. Nice clean place with parking and an enclosed garden. This is good if you have a dog. The only small problem was the wifi didn't work. As I didn't need to work remotely while I was there, this was OK. All in all, a lovely place and good value.

Not as good as it should have been. Not clean enough. Not aligned with Airbnb's T&Cs. Additional charges added after booking. Host seemingly oblivious to Airbnb's expectations (and mine).

This well updated cottage was clean, light, and airy. It was beautifully furnished, and well appointed for our group of four. It was also perfectly situated for touring the local area.

Was no breakfast. Location OK. The radiator in downstairs shower room didn't work and wasn't fixed despite telling the hosts. A couple of the pieces of crockery were chipped. The wooden floor divider leading into kitchen was broken. The appropriate link to gain access was missing from emails so we had a half hour wait after a long journey to gain access. We weren't told about building works going on next door which started at 8am and went on all day. Not exactly relaxing.

Accommodation was lovely. Interaction with agent was a little impersonal and generic. Cottage was in a great location to visit Northumberland but busy road and isolated location limited walking opportunities

The cleanliness and quality of the decoration. The detailed information that we were sent on the morning as we left home. The garden outlook. That there was no good restaurant in Belford. The fact that the downstairs shower was leaking. The fact that the written literature and the framed details of the WiFi password were incorrect but this was quickly sorted via an email exchange. I also didn't like the number of times I have been requested to send my feedback!!

Excellent location for exploring Holy Island and Bamburgh. There was extensive building works being carried out in the cottage next door. Had we known the extent of the works we would not have booked this property. There was drilling into the party wall, roof works and an extension being constructed along the side of the property which overlooked the garden. These works started at an early hour which made our break less than relaxing.

Great central location for seeing areas of Northumberland. Lovely cottage that was very clean and well provisioned with everything that you could possibly need. It lacked for nothing. Perfect stay and would recommend the cottage.

Brilliant location for our first visit to Northumberland. Far enough off the A1 that it is very quiet but also close enough that you can get everywhere easily. Short drive to Holy Island which was great. Sea views from the main bedroom! Simply furnished but we had everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen was well equipped but some of the items were old or needing updating (such as blunt knives). Worth knowing that our booking wasn't confirmed until we found our email from the hosts and had to pay our security deposit on a non-airbnb platform but once we had figured this out then it was pretty smooth all the way through to check in with regular communications from the hosts and texts too.

This cottage was particularly impressive for cleanliness, peaceful surroundings, & furnishings and fixtures were beautiful and well made, I loved this place! My wife, two daughters, & I had a wonderful, restful time here; the Bamburgh castle was only a 10 minute drive away as was the beautiful beach!
