The Chapel in Thornham

The property at Thornham was probably the best short stay property we have stayed at when travelling int he UK. Easy to find, Keys easy to access. Very spacious and clean. Modern with lots of facilities. Sky with movies and Kids TV package, Wi-Fi, Google speaker, small fans in each room and a large one in the living area. Living area was very spacious and comfortable. Lots of books and games. The utility area was abundant with extras. Would definitely stay again and have passed the details onto several friends as all 5 adults who stayed thought it was exceptional. Couple of Pans need replacing. Better blackout blinds in bedrooms That's it everything else was great.

Everything was clearly labelled and easy to manage. The owner has put a lot of thought into making our stay easy to manage. I had to wash pots and oven tray before using which was perhaps a cleaner issue, the chapel was lovely

Great family trip to Norfolk. The Chapel felt like a home away from home as our base for walking & golf based adventures. Some great restaurants nearby and everything you could possibly think of in the house (spare chargers, batteries, sky TV, games etc) barring (as stated) shampoo and shower gel! The downstairs area in particular was great for socialising in the evenings. Would recommend!

The Chapel is a house in which we could have made our own meals in as it had a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room table, and chairs. The bathroom I used had a walk in shower which I really loved, and had great rain shower heads, also the floor was not slippery. My niece had her own bathroom too. The sofas in the living room were extremely comfortable, as were the bedrooms. I could go on, and on, but suffice to say the Chapel in Thornham, Norfolk is a great place to stay. There was nothing we didn’t like. I find stairs hard to manage, but at the Chapel I went up, and down very easily.

We had an absolutely brilliant stay at The Chapel in Thornham. From the moment we walked in, it just felt like home – beautifully kept, incredibly clean, and clearly so thoughtfully put together. Everything we could possibly have needed was there, and then some. The beds were really comfortable, and the whole place just had that calm, welcoming feel that makes it easy to relax into your break straight away. The location couldn't have been better. Right next to The Orange Tree - which we’d also highly recommend for food and atmosphere - and within easy reach of everything we wanted to do locally. So much care had gone into anticipating guests' needs – from local recommendations to practical bits you might have forgotten to pack. We’d absolutely stay again!

Beautifully decorated, lovely chapel conversion. Very stylish. Lots of equipment and thoughtful stuff, including a welcome pack. In a lovely village on the north Norfolk coast road. Great location for bird watchers (RSPB sites close and a very good walk from the village to the coast, via reedbeds full of warblers etc.). Not significant for us, but no onsite parking or outdoor space could be a problem for some. We parked easily less than 100m away, near the church. Some traffic noise as it is next to the road, but very quiet most of the night.

Great stay at Thornham and the Chapel was spot on. Lovely building thoughtfully decorated and laid out. Easy access to all the village, walks to the beach and the RSPB reserve which is a wonderful place.

The Chapel was a beautiful place to stay with everything we needed and more. So many thoughtful little touches in the house, we really appreicted it. Fab location too :)

Very good heating on a cold weekend No welcome basket as mentioned in some of the previous reviews and no wood or logs for our first evening.

Great location. Cosy. Well-equipped. We liked the furnishing and style. We were there in quieter season; guess parking could be difficult at busier times.

A great place to stay with friends. The location is excellent, some really nice pubs and restaurants in walking distance. I would highly recommend. The property was well equipped, warm and comfortable and a little different. We loved it.

We had a lovely long weekend, the house is very comfortable and in a charming little village. Fab pub just a short walk away and close to beach walks.

Beautiful property perfect for a group of friends to celebrate a special birthday. Great location for exploring North Norfolk and plenty of walkable amenities including Thornham Deli and lovely pubs. The property is well designed and furnished really nicely. Would love to come back and would definitely recommend.

We stay in North Norfolk a fair amount and have stayed in Thornham a few times. There was 5 of us this time, rather than the normal 3, so we were looking for somewhere a bit bigger. I could not fault the Chapel, it exceeded all expectations, from the welcome basket to all the extra added touches. If ever there was a place that could be used to set an example on how to do a holiday rental property for other Air BnB accommodations to follow then this place would be it.

The location is perfect and beautiful. Local pubs with excellent food. The Chapel, was warm, and catered for all our needs. The welcome basket contents were a luxury.

Welcome pack well received as self catering. Facilities could not be faulted as everything provided made our stay comfortable and made for a relaxing atmosphere. Location excellent for local attractions and access to local beaches. Unable to park directly next to the property and a small garden would be nice but, overall, an excellent stay.

We had a fantastic stay at The Chapel, the property is beautiful and the location was perfect with walking trails and three great pubs and an excellent deli/cafe within a 5 minute walk away.

Great location for pubs, parks, walks and the local deli (though VERY busy in the deli so a bit tricky to enjoy a chilled browse). The Chapel had great facilities and lots of thoughtful touches which made it feel very homely although having access to a garden area would have made it next-level to be able to sit out on an evening or for a sunny breakfast. Its location on the High Street was great for getting around but was a bit busier than expected for a small Norfolk village so the cars and people passing after the pubs closed was a bit noisy. Really helpful and responsive hosts - thank you :)

This is a lovely property. Exactly as described. In a great location. It is a great place to stay. The beds are comfortable and when we arrived it looked gorgeous. Lots of cushions and rugs. I would def recommend.

The chapel was fantastic and can’t recommend enough. The house is like a home from home with everything you could need for your time away and it’s been finished like a boutique hotel, they really have thought about everything.

Great accommodation for up to 6 people. Loved the spacious open plan downstairs with excellent kitchen/dining area alongside lounge. Excellent for relaxing and entertaining. All instructions from hosts were clear and proactive and accommodation and facilities were spotless and high quality. Had no problem parking on nearby street and enjoyed meals at both Deli and Orange Tree in Thornham. Whilst the Chapel is on the main road this did not cause any issues and overall it is a very convenient location for exploring north Norfolk.

We had a brilliant stay at the Chapel, they’ve really thought of everything from spare phone chargers, fully fitted out kitchen, to lovely coffee table books to stair gates. The place was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and very homely. The location is perfectly between Wells, Holkham, Sandringham and Hunstanton - lots to do and all within easy reach.

The furniture and fittings were excellent. The underfloor heating made the house warm, which was just as well as it was cold for the time of year. Nice welcome pack was appreciated Didn't like being expected to strip the bed and empty the rubbish. Could have done with more cups as we wanted dishwasher to be full before setting off.

The living facilities were cosy and everything possible had been thought of for the comfort of the guests. Lots of fluffy cushions and throws seemed to make it a dusty environment which wasn’t good as one in our group has an allergy to dust

The Chapel was a lovely place to stay and felt welcoming as soon as you walked through the door. Beautifully fitted out and decorated. We had everything we needed. We self catered, apart from one occasion when we had a lunchtime meal at the Orange Tree, just across the road, which was excellent. Another highlight was visiting The Crab Hut in Bancaster Staithes. On street parking along Church Street was ok mid-week, but got really busy on Friday afternoon, when weekend guests arrived for other properties. Parking on the road outside the church resulted in our car being coated in bird poo which had to be washed off on two occasions.

We had a lovely stay at the Chapel and (crucially for us!) it is well kitted out for families with a travel cot, highchair, stair gates, washing machine/tumble dryer etc. There was a minor issue with a broken TV which was communicated to us before we arrived - the host went to great effort to get it resolved within a couple of hours of us arriving which we felt was excellent service and was much appreciated.

The Chapel is a beautiful place to spend a weekend. The interior is gorgeous, and extremely well equipped. It’s a wonderful space for everyone to enjoy a long weekend, including children. The location is fantastic - we walked to 2 pubs and the local coffee shop, as well as along the Norfolk coastal path - all within 10 minutes from the property. Hunstanton is just a short drive up the coast as well as lots of other beautiful places. Communication with the host was fast and friendly.

Had a really lovely stay here! The house was clean and exactly as pictured. The local area is peaceful and beautiful, would definitely recommend. The only small downside was that the listing states there is free parking on premises under the "parking and facilities" section of the listing, but this is not the case. However, there is ample street parking a short walk away.

The Chapel was a fantastic place to spend Christmas with the family. Very comfortable and cosy and located in a beautiful village, lots of country walks. Although plenty of kitchen equipment to cook our xmas dinner, some of the knives and utensils had seen better days. We didn't find the oven gloves until we left as they were in a cupboard with all the games. Also, I didn't find the extra toilet rolls until we were literally walking out the door to leave. They were on the shelf in the porch area. Putting more than 1 in each toilet would have been helpful...we were 4 adults. We seemed to be missing washing up liquid too...never found it so just used the dishwasher for everything.

The property is surprisingly fully equipped and taken care with all the details. It was extremely comfortable, and the location is quiet and very nice,.

Beautifully designed, top spec accommodation that is light and airy yet cosy. Great showers, fab tv, maps, kitchen gadgets and thoughtful extras to support your stay (eg plug adapters, spare shampoo, extra tea/coffee, ice packs). Lots if information in the property. Easy access to beach and local eateries. Minor points but the road is quite noisy when cars pass, impacting watching films. The lounge tv sound is awesome but travels upstairs with significant bass levels so could disturb smaller children.

The Chapel was beautifully appointed with a very comfortable sitting room and well equipped kitchen. All the bedrooms were comfortably furnished and we had an excellent 4 days. The weather was wonderful and Thornham is a beautiful village with great pubs and the wonderful Drove Orchard farm and fish shop. You don’t need to go anywhere else. I wasn’t aware until just before we got there that there was no back door nor outside space. If it hadn’t been such a hot week in September this would not have been an issue. If I had thought a bit about it it would have been obvious being a converted chapel. The third twin bedroom was much smaller than anticipated and had 2.5 ft beds. It would be a perfect children’s room but was not comfortable for two adults during a heatwave.

The Chapel is very well equipped with all you could need to enjoy your stay down to the welcome basket with sparkling wine, chocolates, etc Very comfortable place to stay I can honestly say that there were no negative aspects to the Chapel to report on, a view shared by my fellow travellers

We loved the location and its covenience. It helped to have a parking space. A patio ir garden to sit out would have been the cherry on the cake

The high quality of the fixtures and fittings, and the little touches such as a wood burning stove, welcome pack with box of chocolates and bottle of Prosesseco, plentiful dishwasher tabs, two bathrooms with hot water showers, box of chargers, box of games, superb TV with Sky sub, digital radio, Google speakers, two big sofas. We had to open the front door for ventilation, it would be great if the garden could be developed.

Beautifully decorated property with all mode cons with loads of character in fantastic location. Andy was very accommodating and provided a lovely welcome pack I found ventilation difficult but lots of fans provided.

This is a fabulous place that, to use the old cliché, is a real home from home. There is everything you need here for either self catering or dining out within walking distance - unless it’s a cheese grater you’re in need of, then you have a choice of at least three. Fittings and furnishings, and all crockery etc is top notch. Entertainment is well catered for with an excellent TV, with sound bar etc, Netflix and the like, as well as a choice of games. Location is excellent for seeing the coast of North Norfolk. Only issue was a slight mistake made by Andy, the owner regarding cleaning, but this was dealt with very quickly and with huge good grace. These things happen, but it’s the response that’s important in these situations and Andy’s was flawless. It hasn’t deterred me from wanting to return at some stage.

Extremely well equipped - hairdryers in every room, cleaning products, salt and pepper, cooking oil, chargers, games, dishwasher. High spec technology - fans, google devices, sound bar, dyson fans. Comfortable beds, beautifully decorated, great location. Teeny tiny problem - some of the bins were not emptied from previous guests (dirty nappies in one of the bedroom bins) and some dirty dishes put away in the cupboards.

Everything. The property was immaculate, furnished beautifully and extremely well equipped. The owners had thought of everything. It made for a very relaxing stay. Nothing not to like. The only thing that niggles (and this is still common in many properties, not just this one) is having to strip beds. Just my bugbear. Other than that it was perfect.

Thornham is the perfect Norfolk village, within easy reach of Hunstanton, Wells and Kings Lynn, as well as wonderful pubs, restaurants and beaches. The Chapel really is a lovely base to explore this part of the north Norfolk coast.

Location was fantastic, close to everything including a number of pubs, the deli, fish and chips shops, Erics Pizza. The bus service stops just outside the house. Property was furnished to a very high standard and everything we needed for a lovely few days away. The sky sports was an unexpected bonus for my husband! Hard to fault.

Property could not be faulted inside. Too close to road, no fault of Owners, great place to stay but make sure very busy loud traffic noise is not a problem for you. Property single glazed.

We will 100% return when we can. We loved everything about the Chapel at Thornham. We even became members of the RSPB over at the Titchwell reserve and we’re lucky enough to spot a couple of Egrets! The Chapel is decorated to a very high standard, beautifully designed and top quality fixtures and fittings. Also very comfortable beds.

The house is a beautiful converted chapel building, a unique, spacious combination of old chapel interiors and modern comfort. We have never stayed in such a perfect property before! Thank you!! We really can't criticise anything, because if ever a problem arose or we had a question, the owner was easy to contact and really helpful!

Thornham lovely, great to be able to walk to beach, pubs, deli. Road noise, no outside space, hot (due to weather) and no windows that can be opened downstairs and limited upstairs especially at night due to the road noise.
