The little cottage was lovely, the communication with our host Charlie fluid. The view from one the bedrooms was lovely, we also enjoyed breakfast on the terraced garden, which looked a little wild, but we didn’t mind. The living room was ok, it could have been cosier. We arrived quite early and asked Charlie about an early check in for our luggage, or a place where to leave it until the check in time, but he couldn’t help us with that. The cottage has a very good location, and is in good condition, but the host is not the owner, so he wasn’t flexible; and that makes a difference.

I would avoid this and the Host and Stay properties at all cost. my holiday ruined, had to go back home, place was not fit to stay in,filthy,un kept, dirty unironed bedding, bathroom disgusting, human and animal hairs all over the place. Piles of rotting rubbish at the back door. I have photos so can back up everything I have stayed here and more Host and Stay completely ghosted me on message and call once the problems were highlighted, not quite tge same before checking in when they were very responsive and easy to contact....read what you will into that. Not sure if I was more shocked, upset over just plain angry Worst experience ever and I have travelled extensively both here and abroad Airbandb were great but even they couldn't rescue my holiday as I had booked for myself and my Newfoundland dog. I lost money on things I had booked to do during my stay too

The old stone cottage accommodate me and my family for 5 days. It is a nice area with beautiful view. The instruction of getting into the property are not very clear, that the main entrance it is the back door. A small but cosy house with nice garden. I was not very happy about the cleanliness of the property. Lots of spider webs, toilet and bath sink not cleaned proper. Not a lot of toilet paper left, only for 2 uses. I don’t want to give a bad review but I really hope that the host will take on board this feedback and do some small changes.

Sorry, we hear you - und das wars. Keinerlei Hilfe oder Antwort oder gar Kompensation

We had a roof over our head and a flushing toilet The property was damp and smelled damp. Bedding and towels and toilet paper were damp and clothes were too by the time we left. There was 1/3 of a loo roll and no hand soap in the bathroom and no spares. There was no hot water or heating when we arrived and the door to access the property was round the back (not using the front door) so we had difficulty accessing with a pram. We rang the emergency contact line twice and were sent to voicemail. Someone only got back to us at 0230am with a text asking if we got in ok. 5.5hrs later! No one contacted us about the hot water or heating until the morning when I again emailed. We were promised a maintenance engineer that didn’t show up. The stairs were very steep and back access narrow and gravelly, not suitable for a newborn and whilst advertised as being a short walk to high street and beach nothing was mentioned about the very steep hill and stairs which were difficult to navigate with a pram. The kitchen utensils, table and cutlery were not clean either. The instructions did not detail information about the boiler which was switched off and the plug was in another room which we found by chance the next day so we managed to have hot water on the second day. The waste instructions said to use a blue bin for recycling ( wasn’t one) and to use the bins outside for general waste (very unclear which bin) and the access instructions had a picture of the front door with no information about the keys being for the back door accessed by a shared gate between the properties. All in all a pretty shocking stay and we felt we’d have had a more comfortable experience paying £25 for a campsite pitch rather than £400 for this which was an option for the festival we were going to. So disappointed and feeling ripped off.

Wonderful little cottage on North Rd with stunning views, in the perfect location to explore Hythe and the surrounding area. The property itself was neat, clean & tidy and can comfortably accommodate 3 adults. It could do with some small touches to create a warmer, homely feel for its guests. Flowers, consumables in the kitchen etc., bathroom products and decent sized towels. There was no spare loo roll which came as a surprise but these are all things that can be easily addressed There was no spare toilet roll,
