There are many reasons to come away to Whitby, but why Whitby? Chances are the unique character and heritage of the town has a lot to do with it! The owners of The Spirit set out to take that a step further, to offer you the chance to experience the atmosphere of a stay in Whitby ’s past whilst avoiding the pitfalls. The property is thought to date back to at least the mid 1600s and maybe earlier (investigations are ongoing) so you’ll find décor and a mixture of antique and reproduction furniture from those times but don’t worry, there’s hot and cold running water, TV, and modern cooking facilities! Much of the early structure remains exposed and you’ll also find old church pews re-used in the walls; the home was previously known as Faith Cottage and there could be an ecclesiastical or fishing connection. Accommodation comprises a dining area and kitchen on the ground floor, a bedroom with two single beds on the first floor together with a living room with sofa. The top floor offers a master bedroom with king size bed, plus modern bathroom with power shower. Previous visitors have said a stay at The Spirit offers something truly magical, something they’ll want to remember. Rather than a staying in modern but ultimately clinical apartment, why not experience The Spirit of Whitby?
